Super accurate cylinder block machining using custom made facing mill

In this educational video from Rowan at MTDCNC we see how Steve Rigby at HSM Components overcame a customer request to machine a cylinder block in one pass. Using Seco adjustable cartridge holders HSM manufactured their own 180mm face mill with twin inserts. Machined on their Hurco machining centre, HSM are obtaining tolerances of under 10 microns. Just shows what you can do with a little ingenuity.
