Nicolas Correa are at AMB 2022 in Germany showcasing their new FENIX 75. Ignacio from Correa explains to Tom from MTDCNC the FENIX range represents a new concept of travelling column machine with lateral ram. Highly robust based on a system of L-guided ram, with high precision thanks to the mechanical system of ram droop correction. A flexible machine suitable for roughing and finishing operations. Although the machine is 7.5 metres in “X”, 3 Metres in “Y”, 1.5 metres in “Z” & a 60 tool carrousel this is one of Correa’s smaller traveling column machines. The machine on their stand is under power & cutting to show visitors it’s full power even when the ram is fully extended & taking big deep cuts, this is an extremely ridged machine. The milling heads on Nicolás Correa machines have a unique technology that makes them the most robust and reliable on the market. The Correa patented head system with 2 crowns allows the head to rotate every 0,02º in both axes. Because it is not a floating hirth crown, maximum stiffness & accuracy is guaranteed.
