Kennametal Expands Mining Portfolio with Cutting-Edge Solutions to Boost Efficiency and Safety!

Kennametal Inc. has announced the expansion of its product portfolio with three new lines of tooling and wear protection solutions designed to tackle the most demanding mining environments. This expansion includes new picks and the innovative Defender Round Drill Steel System, each aimed at improving wear resistance, efficiency, and safety for mining operators.
PrimePoint Picks feature a polycrystalline diamond (PCD) tip, providing longwall operators with extended tool life by reducing abrasive wear. With superior hardness compared to traditional tungsten carbide, this tool promises more uptime and fewer replacements.
The PlusPoint Picks are engineered to penetrate the toughest rock formations, especially during unexpected adverse geological conditions. Their extra-tough grade helps continuous miner operators minimize downtime, improving overall productivity.
The Defender Round Drill Steel System addresses common challenges miners face, particularly when poor roof geology and water are involved. The system provides thicker, stackable, and repairable round steel, a self-aligning hands-free chuck, and spline-drive adapters for faster drilling of larger and longer holes. It generates less noise and dust, enhancing both operational efficiency and safety.
