Escorts Kubota Launches PRO588i-G Combine Harvester to Combat Stubble Burning!
By Ashutosh Arora
Escorts Kubota Ltd has introduced the PRO588i-G combine harvester in Punjab and Haryana, aiming to provide farmers with a profitable and sustainable alternative to stubble burning while helping reduce air pollution in North India. By cutting the crop’s stalk closer to its base, the machine ensures the full length of straw is left intact, making it easier to collect and reuse. This approach allows farmers to generate additional income from straw while minimizing harmful emissions caused by open-field burning.
The PRO588i-G features a threshing mechanism designed in Japan that minimizes breakage of the fragile long grains of Basmati rice. This not only improves the quality and appeal of the grain but also enhances its price and export potential. With its advanced technology, the harvester supports India’s farmers in producing higher-value crops that can compete more effectively in global markets.
Weighing just 2,700 kilograms, the harvester is significantly lighter than conventional machines in its class. This lightweight design reduces soil compaction, eases ploughing efforts, and supports healthier soil over time. Equipped with a crawler system, the PRO588i-G also operates effectively in wet fields, providing flexibility and reliability in challenging conditions. Ergonomic design features further improve operator comfort, allowing for longer working hours with less fatigue.
Highlighting the company’s commitment to innovation, Nikhil Nanda, Chairman and Managing Director of Escorts Kubota, said, “Our new Kubota combine harvester is a testament to the same. Its unique features, designed in Japan, not only offer more profit potential to our ‘Annadatas’ but can also help address the menace of air pollution in North India.”
Akira Kato, Deputy Managing Director, added, “Launch of the new Kubota combine harvester fits well into our plans to introduce game-changing innovations that can meaningfully transform Indian agriculture, increase productivity and profitability, and meet sustainability goals through precision farming solutions. This addition will further boost Escorts Kubota’s presence in the farm equipment industry.”
Rajan Chugh, Chief Officer of the Agri Solutions Business Division, emphasized the product’s significance in strengthening the company’s leadership position. “The PRO588i-G combine harvester significantly advances the harvesting technology in its class in the country. Escorts Kubota is a category leader in paddy crop applications, with world-class harvesters and rice transplanters. A new addition to this family of products will further cement our position.”
By addressing both farmer profitability and environmental sustainability, the PRO588i-G represents a key step in Escorts Kubota’s mission to modernize Indian agriculture. Its ability to reduce stubble burning not only supports cleaner air but also aligns with national efforts to promote sustainable farming practices. At the same time, its efficiency, crop protection features, and farmer-friendly design ensure that it delivers tangible economic benefits to those working in the fields.
With this launch, Escorts Kubota continues to build on its reputation for delivering advanced, farmer-centric machinery tailored to India’s unique agricultural needs. The PRO588i-G harvester reinforces the company’s role as a leader in precision farming and sustainable agricultural technology, offering a solution that balances productivity, profitability, and environmental responsibility.
