BVK Group Completes Acquisition of GKD India, Rebrands as WMW Industries!
By Ashutosh Arora
BVK Group, a diversified Indian conglomerate with a strong presence in woven mesh and filtration technologies, has finalized the acquisition of GKD India from Germany’s GKD Group. With this move, the decade-long joint venture between the two family-owned companies has come to an end, and the business will now operate under a new identity—WMW Industries Ltd.
Established in 2011, GKD India was born out of a collaboration that combined German engineering expertise with India’s cost-efficient manufacturing strengths. Over the years, the venture developed a solid reputation for producing advanced woven filtration mesh and fabrics, catering to highly demanding industrial applications. From energy to architecture, its solutions became integral to sectors requiring high-performance materials for separation, durability, and precision.
The acquisition grants BVK Group full ownership, marking a new phase in its growth strategy. According to company officials, the decision to separate was reached amicably, enabling both BVK and GKD Germany to pursue independent strategies for global expansion. While financial terms of the transaction remain undisclosed, the transition was completed in the last fiscal year and has now been formally announced.
Harsh Khaitan, Director at BVK Group, highlighted the strategic intent behind the acquisition: “This transition reflects our readiness to independently scale operations, invest in smart manufacturing, expand our customer base in India, and strengthen our global presence.” His statement underscores BVK’s ambition to move from being a joint-venture participant to becoming India’s largest integrated woven mesh solutions provider.
As part of its rebranding as WMW Industries, the company is investing heavily in capacity and sustainability. A new LEED Platinum-rated facility, slated to open in November 2025, will boost manufacturing capabilities while aligning operations with green building standards. This facility is expected to become a cornerstone of the company’s future, supporting advanced production lines and delivering customized solutions for global and domestic markets alike.
WMW Industries’ current certifications, including IATF 16949, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45000, reflect its commitment to quality, environmental responsibility, and workplace safety. With these credentials, the company is positioned to serve customers in sectors such as automotive, energy, industrial filtration, solid-liquid separation, and architectural applications. Its products are expected to play a growing role in enabling cleaner energy, safer industrial processes, and more sustainable infrastructure.
For BVK Group, this acquisition is not only about strengthening its core manufacturing operations but also about reinforcing its broader identity as a diversified enterprise. With interests spanning technical manufacturing, information technology, real estate, and education for specially abled children, the Group brings more than six decades of experience in combining industrial expertise with a strong social and sustainability focus.
The rebranding of GKD India to WMW Industries signals the beginning of a new chapter—one where BVK Group stands independently in the woven mesh domain, ready to scale its global outreach while maintaining a strong commitment to innovation and sustainability. As WMW Industries prepares to commission its new facility later this year, the company is set to elevate India’s standing in high-performance mesh and filtration technologies on the world stage.
