Big Daishowa Inc. has reaffirmed its commitment to advancing technical education through the continuation of its Tools for Schools program — an initiative designed to equip future machinists and engineers with access to industry-grade tooling technology. Now entering its fourth year, the program bridges the gap between classroom learning and real-world manufacturing by directly supporting schools with high-precision tools and equipment.

Running from November 3, 2025, to January 30, 2026, Big Daishowa will donate a tooling certificate valued at 20% of every qualifying order to a school of the customer’s choice. These certificates can be redeemed for any of Big Daishowa’s premium products — including toolholders, boring tools, cutting tools, workholding solutions, and presetters — ensuring that educational institutions have access to the same advanced technologies used across professional machining floors.

Over the past three years, the company has contributed nearly $70,000 in tooling certificates to high schools, vocational institutes, colleges, and universities across North America. This initiative has become a cornerstone of Big Daishowa’s long-term mission to strengthen the skilled manufacturing workforce pipeline.

Jack Burley, President and COO of Big Daishowa, highlights the importance of empowering students with hands-on experience in modern manufacturing environments. “We’re committed to preparing the next generation of manufacturers for success,” he says. “This program helps inspire students by giving them the confidence, skill, and experience to work with the same precision tooling they’ll use in their careers.”

Participation in the Tools for Schools program is straightforward. Customers can qualify by placing a minimum order through their local distributor and selecting the option to “Drop ship from Big Daishowa.” Each order must reference “PROMO-BD-SCHOOLS” as a line item to ensure that a corresponding tooling certificate is issued to the designated school.

The company’s extensive product portfolio plays a crucial role in both industrial and educational applications. Its lineup includes face mill holders, end mill holders, collet chucks, angle heads, and tapping adapters, along with specialized solutions such as the Kaiser Boring System, Sphinx high-performance drills, and Unilock workholding systems. For machines equipped with Big-Plus spindles, Big Daishowa remains the officially licensed provider of Big-Plus toolholders in North America — a mark of precision and reliability trusted across the manufacturing sector.

By combining educational investment with cutting-edge tooling innovation, Big Daishowa continues to build a sustainable foundation for future manufacturing talent. The Tools for Schools program not only enhances technical training facilities but also strengthens the industry’s long-term competitiveness by ensuring that the next generation of machinists enters the workforce fully equipped for success.
