Ceratizit Completes Phase One at New North American Headquarters!
By Ashutosh Arora
Ceratizit, a global leader in cutting tool technology, has completed the first phase of its new North American headquarters project, marking an important step in its long-term growth strategy for the region. Located in the Griffith Gateway office park in Charlotte, North Carolina, the new headquarters is positioned to enhance customer access, strengthen ties to the region’s thriving manufacturing ecosystem, and tap into one of the strongest pipelines of technical talent in the United States.
The company began its site selection process in 2024 with three primary goals: proximity to customers, connection to a dynamic manufacturing base, and access to skilled workers. After evaluating multiple locations, Charlotte emerged as the clear choice. Its location at 625 Griffith Road, less than a mile from Interstate 77 and just 20 minutes from Charlotte Douglas International Airport, ensures easy connectivity for both regional and international clients.
North Carolina’s diverse and expanding manufacturing sector was a key factor in the decision. The state has become an increasingly attractive destination for aerospace, automotive, energy, and precision manufacturers, with several OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers either expanding existing facilities or establishing new ones in the region. This environment aligns directly with Ceratizit’s leadership in supplying advanced cutting tools to these same industries, making Charlotte a strategic hub for collaboration and growth.
The completion of phase one focused on creating conference and meeting spaces to support both internal teams and customer engagements. Construction for this stage began in February 2025, and the facility is now open, providing Ceratizit with a functional base of operations in the heart of the Southeast’s industrial corridor. Phase two, already in planning, will add a dedicated technical center at the Charlotte headquarters. This space will serve as a hub for product demonstrations, training programs, and joint development initiatives with customers and partners.
A central consideration in choosing North Carolina was the availability of skilled talent. The state’s investments in technical colleges, trade schools, and universities with strong programs in engineering, machining, and manufacturing technologies have created a steady flow of qualified professionals. Charlotte, in particular, has cultivated a reputation as a manufacturing-friendly city with a workforce capable of supporting advanced industries. Ceratizit intends to draw from this talent pool as it grows, while also serving as a training partner to local institutions to further strengthen regional capabilities.
Troy Wilt, Managing Director of Ceratizit USA’s Cutting Tools Division, emphasized the importance of the new headquarters in the company’s broader North American strategy. “With our manufacturing facility in Sacramento, headquarters in North Carolina, and the addition of a technical center, Ceratizit will continue our strategic growth in the U.S. and strengthen our capabilities throughout North America,” he said.
For Ceratizit, the Charlotte headquarters represents more than just a new address. It is a cornerstone in its vision of combining global expertise with regional responsiveness, ensuring customers across North America have access to cutting-edge tooling solutions, local support, and technical resources. As the company prepares for phase two, its investment in Charlotte signals a long-term commitment to building partnerships, fostering innovation, and advancing manufacturing excellence in one of the most dynamic regions of the United States.
