IBARMIA Revolutionizes Aerospace Manufacturing with Pioneering DIGIMAP Project

IBARMIA is setting new standards in the aerospace industry with its groundbreaking DIGIMAP project, a visionary initiative aimed at transforming the production of large aeronautical components. Sponsored by the CDTI under the “Programa Tecnológico Aeronáutico,” the project leverages Ultra Near Net Shape (UNNS) technologies to create zero-defect parts while significantly reducing environmental impacts.

Running until the end of 2025 and led by INMAPA Aeronáutica, the DIGIMAP project includes key partnerships with ELLIOT Cloud, SEVILLA Control, OPEN MIND Technologies, and TECNALIA. This collaborative effort integrates digital tools and intelligent machine concepts to refine manufacturing processes, cutting material waste and energy consumption. By achieving near-final product geometries with UNNS, the need for extensive machining is minimized, conserving resources, enhancing design flexibility, speeding up market readiness, and lowering production costs.
