It’s been a busy few months at SJG, we have seen the arrival of some new machinery, welcomed some engineering students from HOW college, added a new roof, to name a few things!
The week commencing 8th November we took delivery of a new waterjet from WARDjet to further increase our cutting capabilities.
The machine further increases capacity and gives us greater cutting ability.
- Using Water only
- 5 heads
- One 5 axis head and 4 others on spreader bars
- Full IGEMS CAD/CAM nesting and 5 axis software
The machine is now fully installed and operational, thanks to the help and support of the team at WARDjet.
During November we welcomed some students from Heart of Worcester College who are studying Engineering.
The students visited for a factory tour and to learn a little more about our machinery and processes. As a result of the tour we are looking to potentially offer work experience to some of the students through the college and NEXT Gen Makers.
In the last week of November we took delivery of an additional wire eroder
Our new EDM wire eroder will help support quicker turnaround and increased capacity for new tooling in our rubber extrusion department.
We have had a busy year during 2021, and we have faced a number of challenges with regards to things like price increases, raw material availability and shortages.
We are exceptional proud and grateful to all of our employees and suppliers who continue to support the business in order for to continue to grow and re-invest.
SJG will be closing for Christmas on 24th December and re-opening on 4th January 2022.
