IPEL sucks up scientific sector demands

Monday 1 June 2020, 10:13:43 PM

Interface Precision Engineering Ltd (IPEL) based in Hastings, an area in the industry known as ‘vacuum valley’ has become recognised as an area for manufacturing components for vacuum chambers and UHV Systems.

During this pandemic, the scientific and vacuum industry has been manufacturing equipment in the search for a Covid-19 vaccine. Mass spectrometers, electron microscopes and test equipment are all used in the study of the virus and IPEL has had to meet the increasing demand.

IPEL has been manufacturing components for medical ventilators for 10+ years and given the current demand, this means IPEL has had to ramp up production, adding extra shifts at night and weekends to ensure the company is continuing its component supply at short notice.
