CAD/CAM Software Grants Users More Control

Wednesday 31 August 2022, 8:09:11 PM

NCCS, a developer of software used in the aerospace, automotive, tire mold and turbo-machinery industries, is showcasing PostWorks Connect, an advanced multiaxis universal postprocessor, and NCL/IPV, which provides high performance, simultaneous material removal and CNC machine tool simulation.

PostWorks is a universal two-axis to ten-axis postprocessor and postprocessor generator. With five-axis+ support, the ability to convert NC code for virtually any machine/controller combination and a host of other features included as standard, NCCS aims to have PostWorks fit any customers’ needs.

NCCS says combining PostWorks’ user-friendly interface with its advanced functionality grants complete control of the user’s machine code.

PostWorks comes with a variety of features intended to support customers’ needs. These include complete cycle support for five-axis+, one postprocessor solution for all of a customer’s machines and total output control with the ability to adjust output data with scale, mirror, translate and rotate.  PostWorks was developed in order to optimize the performance of CNC machines, according to NCCS. It also possesses macro capability for advanced customization, complete cycle support and customization, and plugin control to convert any known CAD/CAM format for CNC machines. NCCS says the user should also be able to clone existing posts with the ability to quickly modify specific aspects for machines with similar configurations with PostWorks.

NCL offers a blend of automated and user-controlled tool path generation techniques which NCCS says results in reduced programming, reduced machine cycle time and increased quality. NCL’s combination of power, flexibility and tool control should be beneficial to users as it will enable them to quickly produce any part, reduce machine time, improve quality and increase profits.

NCCS’ goal with the key features of PostWorks and NCL is for companies to be able to get the most out of their software investment by increasing programming proficiency, in addition to improving the quality and accuracy of their NC programs.
