By Ashutosh Arora
The Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers’ Association (IMTMA) has announced that the 19th edition of the National Productivity Summit (NPS 2025) will take place in Ahmedabad on November 13–14, 2025. Widely recognized as one of the most important gatherings in India’s manufacturing calendar, the summit will bring together industry leaders, innovators, SMEs, and professionals to celebrate success stories, exchange best practices, and inspire fresh thinking on productivity improvement across the country.
The summit has grown over the years into a unique platform for knowledge sharing and collaboration, where some of the brightest minds in Indian manufacturing present live case studies of productivity excellence. This year’s event promises to continue that tradition with keynote sessions from industry experts, interactive discussions, and real-world examples of how companies are reimagining their operations to achieve global competitiveness.
As part of the program, delegates will have the opportunity to participate in plant visits on November 12—a day prior to the official opening. The tours will include visits to several leading companies such as Bosch Rexroth India, Harsha Engineers International, Milacron India, SLTL Group, Gabriel India, and Adient India. These visits are designed to give participants a first-hand look at world-class manufacturing practices, advanced technologies, and productivity-enhancing initiatives being implemented across different sectors.
A central highlight of the summit will be the IMTMA – ACE Micromatic Productivity Championship Awards 2025. These prestigious awards recognize outstanding achievements in productivity improvement across the Indian manufacturing ecosystem. Companies shortlisted for the awards will present detailed case studies of their initiatives, allowing attendees to learn directly from their experiences. This year’s line-up includes organizations from both automotive and non-automotive sectors, as well as a strong representation of SMEs. Among the companies set to share their stories are Ashok Leyland, Titan Company, Tata Electronics, and Laxmi Drucken Komponents. Their presentations will demonstrate how innovative approaches to efficiency, quality, and process optimization can lead to measurable gains in competitiveness and profitability.
By showcasing these examples, NPS 2025 seeks to inspire manufacturers of all sizes to embrace productivity as a key driver of growth. For SMEs in particular, the event offers a valuable opportunity to connect with peers, gain exposure to best practices, and explore pathways to scale their operations sustainably.
The summit also aligns with India’s broader national goals of strengthening its position as a global manufacturing hub. With initiatives like “Make in India” and “Atmanirbhar Bharat” pushing industries to adopt modern technologies, lean practices, and advanced automation, forums such as NPS 2025 play a crucial role in accelerating this transformation. They act as bridges between innovation and implementation, encouraging collaboration between large enterprises, SMEs, technology providers, and academia.
As the countdown to November begins, anticipation is building for an event that not only celebrates productivity achievements but also charts a course for India’s manufacturing future. With its mix of knowledge-sharing sessions, live demonstrations, and recognition of excellence, the 19th National Productivity Summit in Ahmedabad is set to be a landmark event for the country’s industrial landscape.
