Komatsu India Honours Mother India Forming for Safety-Centric Tube Engineering Excellence!
By Ashutosh Arora
Komatsu India, a subsidiary of Komatsu Ltd (Japan) and a global leader in construction and mining equipment, has recognized Mother India Forming (MIF) with the prestigious “Significant Contribution Award (FY 2024-25)” for its excellence in safety-driven tube engineering. The award was presented at Komatsu India’s 18th Annual Business Partners Meet, an event that convened suppliers and stakeholders to deliberate on advancements in quality, safety, supply chain, and manufacturing innovation.
The recognition was received on behalf of MIF by Santosh Venkatasubbaiah, Director – Sales & Marketing, and Anil Kumar, Chief Operating Officer. This achievement underscores MIF’s growing role as a trusted partner in Komatsu’s global supply chain for mining and construction equipment.
Mother India Forming was particularly acknowledged for its engineering of ROPS/FOPS-compliant profile tubes, a critical component in Komatsu’s operator cabins. ROPS (Roll Over Protective Structures) and FOPS (Falling Object Protective Structures) are stringent international safety standards designed to safeguard equipment operators in high-demand environments. By designing and producing tubular profiles that meet these demanding requirements, MIF has strengthened the safety, reliability, and durability of Komatsu’s heavy machinery.
The company’s ability to integrate advanced forming technologies with strict quality control systems has helped ensure consistency in manufacturing, while meeting Komatsu’s global benchmarks. This innovation not only reinforces safety standards but also contributes to longer equipment lifecycles and reduced maintenance requirements.
Speaking on the recognition, Santosh Venkatasubbaiah said, “We are honoured to be recognised by Komatsu India. This award reflects our commitment to safety, precision, and customer-focused innovation. We look forward to strengthening our partnership with Komatsu and contributing to the industry’s progress.”
Anil Kumar added, “This recognition affirms the synergy between MIF’s engineering expertise and Komatsu’s vision for stronger, safer, and more efficient equipment. It motivates us to keep raising the bar for manufacturing excellence.”
The award also highlights MIF’s broader mission of advancing forming technologies that balance safety, performance, and sustainability. By pushing the boundaries of tubular component design, the company is helping to redefine standards across multiple industries.
Headquartered in Bangalore, Mother India Forming has established itself as a leader in precision-engineered tubular solutions for the automotive, construction, and mining sectors. Its two state-of-the-art facilities are equipped with 15 roll-forming machines, CNC bending units, robotic laser cutting systems, robotic welding stations, and a dedicated R&D centre. A workforce of over 300 engineers and technicians ensures scalability, precision, and compliance with global standards.
MIF’s customer portfolio spans industry leaders such as Volvo, Toyota, Kone Elevators, and Rittal, with exports reaching Europe, North America, and Southeast Asia. The company’s integrated ecosystem addresses challenges common in the sector, including fragmented supply chains, tolerance inconsistencies, and delivery delays—helping position India as an emerging global hub for advanced steel forming.
For Komatsu India, this recognition reinforces its ongoing commitment to safety, sustainability, and technological advancement. The company delivers a wide portfolio of advanced mining and construction machinery—including hydraulic excavators, dump trucks, dozers, and motor graders—supported by a robust service network. Through collaborations with suppliers like MIF, Komatsu continues to enhance productivity, reliability, and operator safety in sectors critical to India’s infrastructure and industrial growth.
