Big Daishowa Introduces Speroni Pro Shrink TubeChiller 1100 for Automated Shrinking and Tool Holder Cooling!
By Ashutosh Arora
Big Daishowa has unveiled the Speroni Pro Shrink TubeChiller 1100, an advanced combination shrink and cooling system designed to make the heat-shrinking process safer, faster, and more efficient for tool holders. By integrating automated cooling directly into the shrinking cycle, the system significantly reduces the risk of burns, streamlines workflow, and ensures uniform temperature control throughout the process.
The TubeChiller 1100 operates as a standalone unit, enabling manufacturers to perform heat-shrinking operations with ease and consistency. The process begins with a high-frequency induction coil that rapidly heats the tool holder to the appropriate temperature for inserting or removing the cutting tool. Once the heating phase is complete, the unit automatically transitions into its cooling cycle, evenly cooling the tool holder through its built-in chiller body. This hands-free cooling function eliminates manual handling of hot components, improving operator safety and minimizing downtime between tool changes.
A notable feature of the system is the integrated pyrometer, which continuously monitors the temperature of the tool holder in real time. This intelligent measurement prevents overheating by maintaining the heating action only up to the optimal temperature. As a result, the unit ensures consistent shrink-fit quality and extends the life of the tool holder by avoiding thermal damage. The system’s monitoring ensures that overheating is virtually impossible, giving operators peace of mind and ensuring repeatable results.
Usability is a key focus of the TubeChiller 1100. Operators can initiate the shrinking process with one touch, selecting the appropriate settings and parameters through a simple, intuitive display screen. Both heating and cooling operations can be fully customized to accommodate different tool materials, diameters, and application requirements. This flexibility allows shops to adapt the unit to a wide variety of tooling scenarios without recalibration or complex setup.
The system supports a shrinking range of Ø 3–32 mm for carbide shanks and Ø 6–32 mm for HSS shanks, making it suitable for a broad spectrum of tool holder sizes commonly used in precision machining. Whether handling small-diameter carbide tools or larger HSS shanks, the TubeChiller 1100 offers consistent and reliable performance.
By combining automated heating, controlled cooling, and customizable operation in a single machine, Big Daishowa’s Speroni Pro Shrink TubeChiller 1100 provides a modern, user-friendly solution for shrink-fit tooling. It enhances shop safety, improves efficiency, and delivers uniform shrink-fit results—making it an ideal addition for manufacturers looking to upgrade their tool room technology and optimize their machining processes.
