On the Technical Corner, Tom Skubala of MTDCNC and Duncan Boyle of Tungaloy talk about DrillMeister, a range of Tungaloy’s most popular tools. The indexable-head drill means you’re not just buying one size of drill. There’s a range of diameters you can use simply by changing the head. DrillMeister offers the original geometry DMP head as well as a DMC self-centering geometry and double margin drill for an excellent finish! Other heads include the DMF for flat bottom holes, DMN for non-ferrous materials, and DMH for hard applications. The range of drills comes in 1.5xD, 3xD, 5xD, 8xD, and 12xD reach. But the newest addition from Tungaloy includes the ADDMeister, the world’s smallest exchangeable head series. While the older DrillMeister stops at 6mm minimum diameter, the ADDMeister takes it down to 4mm, with 3xD and 5xD reach capability, through coolant, 0.1 increment heads, 2 geometries, and grades of carbide to suit various applications.
