Matsuura’s LUMEX hybrid metal 3D printer offers constant reliability for complex parts

Hybrid metal 3D printing might be something you’ve never heard of, but Matsuura have been developing this fantastic technology for 20 years! Tony Gunn of MTDCNC and Yuto Matsuura of Matsuura Machinery discuss the world’s first hybrid metal 3D printer LUMEX. Targeting the die & mold industry, the powder bed type machine with a spindle inside offers both subtractive and additive manufacturing capability. Parts are built using laser sintering technology and the machine performs high-speed milling after every ten layers.
