Star Micronics GB recently hosted its annual golf event at the JCB Golf & Country Club, raising an impressive £16,000 for the Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity. The funds will aid in the development of the new National Centre for Child Health Technology (NCCHT), marking a significant contribution to child health innovation.
The event was a blend of generous donations, competitions, a charity auction, and a raffle, all contributing to the substantial amount raised. Participants tackled the challenging 7,308-yard par 72 course, delivering notable individual and team performances.
Scott Pearson clinched the top spot in individual scores, followed by Nick Iacobucci and Nicholas Groom, all receiving vouchers for the JCB Golf Academy retail outlet. In the team category, Ben Hellier, Scott Pearson, Jack Smith, and David Brown took first place, earning American Golf vouchers and exclusive JCB scorecard holders. The second-place team included James Hunter, Alan Ramsay, Stuart Whitehouse, and Paul Masters, each receiving an American Golf voucher.
Special recognition went to winners in the “nearest the pin” and “longest drive” competitions. Ben Hellier, Joe Ford, James Hunter, and Chaz Bilkhu excelled in precision shots, while Phil Smith’s powerful drive secured a notable achievement.
The event’s success was attributed to the unwavering support from customers, suppliers, and staff, as well as the efforts of Suze Dinwoodie and Alicia Midgley of the Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity. The JCB Golf & Country Club team also played a vital role in this philanthropic endeavor.
Star Micronics GB continues to demonstrate its commitment to community support through charitable initiatives, reinforcing its presence as a key player in the manufacturing industry.
