United Performance Metals (UPM), an affiliate of O’Neal Industries, has made a strategic acquisition of Fabrisonic LLC, a tech startup specializing in innovative metal fabrication technologies. This acquisition enhances UPM’s position in advanced manufacturing, allowing the company to expand its portfolio of cutting-edge solutions.

Fabrisonic, which was originally a division of EWI before becoming an independent entity in 2011, is renowned for its patented process that enables the joining of dissimilar metals without metallurgical mismatch issues. This groundbreaking technology is particularly beneficial for industries such as aerospace, defense, space, and automotive, where high-performance components are essential. Fabrisonic’s innovations lead to increased heat transfer rates, reduced weight, and the integration of sensors into metal components, making it ideal for applications that require advanced material properties.

The acquisition by UPM is expected to open new opportunities for both companies, allowing Fabrisonic to leverage UPM’s broader resources and market presence. Fabrisonic’s unique manufacturing technologies will complement UPM’s existing solutions, which include a wide range of high-performance metals and alloys, specialty processing services, and custom supply chain solutions.

“We are excited about the potential this acquisition brings to our customers and the possibilities for innovation in advanced manufacturing,” said Henry Cialone, Fabrisonic’s Board Chairman and CEO of EWI. Jason Riley, General Manager of Fabrisonic, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “Joining the UPM family will allow us to continue developing novel solutions and expanding our market reach, with the added benefit of greater resources and capabilities.”

As part of the integration, Fabrisonic will operate under UPM’s specialty processing facilities, including locations in Wallingford, CT, Cincinnati, OH, and Oakland, CA. This move strengthens UPM’s commitment to providing advanced manufacturing services and solutions across multiple industries, positioning the company for continued growth in the field of innovative metal fabrication.
