Unisig’s R-4-2-2: Revolutionizing Barrel Manufacturing with Fully Automated Precision
Unisig introduces the R-4-2-2 fully automated barrel cell, offering continuous and synchronized production capabilities. This innovative cell can gundrill four barrels simultaneously, while two others undergo precision reaming and button rifling concurrently.
The Unisig R-4-2-2 production cell employs a smart conveyor system to load four barrel blanks into a UNI four-spindle gundrilling machine simultaneously. Utilizing a bulk feeder for automated loading, the cell initiates hours of unattended operation. Following gundrilling, the parts are conveyed out of the machine, where a six-axis robot loads two of them into the UNR reaming machine.
After precision reaming, the robot transports the reamed barrels to a blow-off station before loading them into the R-series rifling machine. This synchronized process ensures gundrilling, reaming, and rifling operations occur simultaneously, maximizing productivity. Finally, the robot delivers finished, rifled parts to a multi-level discharge magazine.
According to Unisig, production cells like the R-4-2-2 cater to manufacturers of all sizes, offering scalable barrel production solutions designed for enhanced productivity and reliability.
