
Taipei, October 1, 2022:
TaipeiPLAS 2022, held by Taiwan External Trade Development Council and Taiwan Association of Machinery Industry in conjunction with ShoeTech Taipei, concluded October 1 while the online exhibition runs until October 27.
The 5-day event attracted over 12,500 on-site and offline visitors from more than 40 countries/regions. Of note, the online exhibition drew 10,000 visitors from more than 14 countries/regions.
Exhibitors addressing energy-saving and labor-saving trends with new generation equipment included:
- Fu Chun Shin Machinery (FCS) with a new all-electric two-component injecting molding machine with lower energy consumption (0.37kWh/kg) and shorter cycle times, and its latest servo hydraulic energy-saving, outward toggle injection molding machine;
- Yessing Machinery with a 2022 release ‘PUR-X’ PUR 3 in 1 Production Lamination Machine, which it claims requires significantly less manpower and can increase production capacity by 80%.
Also of note were:
- RebornPlas’ reusable nylon pellets from waste fishing nets (ISO, RoHS, REACH, GRS, UL-2809)
- Products made of recycled EF-EVA foam materials developed by Formosa Plastics (see also their production overview)
· Hao Yu Precision Machinery PP / HDPE/ PET woven-bag inner/outer laminating equipment
- Polystar’s full automated pelletizing system
- Ye I Machinery’s ‘YDS Series’ touch-screen controlled (PLC) plastic recycling machine
Industry visitors included:
Hon Hai Precision, Delta, Hotai, Gogoro, MSI, Wistron, Feng Tay, Makalot, Compal, Foxlink, Tahsin, Atunas, Pou Chen, YKK, ABB, HP, NIKE, ASICS, LG Chemical, DuPont, Trek Bikes.
Although Taiwan has not yet completely relaxed its quarantine controls, TaipeiPLAS 2022 still attracted 250+ international visitors from 45 countries. Among these was a buyer delegation organized by Myanmar Plastic Industries Association with estimated purchases of US$700,000 for the next three months. Also notable was an Indian delegation attracted by Taiwan’s strong capabilities and potential.
Daily live events from the show floor included “PLASpotlight Live” and “Podcast Live”. Over 4,000 videos and podcasts were downloaded. Face-to-face interaction and insight sharing were enhanced by the “Sustainability Forum” and “Guided Tours”. Over 100 buyer meetings were conducted either on-site or online through the “On-site Guide for Online Visitors” and the “Taiwan Smart Plastic & Rubber Machinery Day”.
