The Canadian Manufacturing Technology Show (CMTS) is set to return to the Toronto Congress Centre from September 29 to October 2, 2025, bringing together a powerful cross-section of the manufacturing ecosystem. The event is expected to draw more than 10,000 professionals, over 750 suppliers and OEMs, and hundreds of decision-makers from across Canada and beyond.
With a 20% expansion in show floor space compared to previous editions, CMTS 2025 reflects both the resilience and growth trajectory of Canadian manufacturing. The event will serve as a hub for industry networking, business development, and technology discovery at a time when manufacturers are rapidly embracing automation, digitalisation, and sustainable practices.
“The growth of this event shows that Canadian manufacturing isn’t just adapting to new economic realities – it’s accelerating,” said Steve Prahalis, Chief Operating Officer of SME, the non-profit producer of CMTS. “From additive technologies and automation to workforce transformation, CMTS 2025 brings the nation’s manufacturing innovation under one roof, offering a 360-degree view of where the industry is headed.”
Industry leaders see the event as a vital platform for building partnerships and scaling business opportunities. Marc Hasrouny, President of Megatel CNC Solutions Inc. and President of the Canadian Machine Tool Distributors Association (CMTDA), noted, “CMTS 2025 is a fantastic opportunity for us to reconnect with our customers and build new partnerships with Canada’s top manufacturers.”
For 2025, CMTS is expanding its scope with three major technology showcases, designed to highlight breakthrough innovations and connect attendees with future-ready solutions:
- RAPID + TCT Showcase – North America’s leading additive manufacturing platform, making its debut at CMTS. Exhibitors will include Stratasys Direct, HONPE, Javelin Technologies, and Pantheon, demonstrating advanced 3D printing and additive technologies.
- Smart Manufacturing Experience Zone – Featuring IIoT, AI, and energy-optimized systems from companies such as Cimatron Technologies, Genius ERP, Edgecom Energy, and Robatech Canada.
- Discovery Zone – Spotlighting Canadian start-ups such as Estare Inc. and Innovate-Ops Inc., showcasing homegrown innovation in automation and manufacturing solutions.
Alongside the exhibits, CMTS 2025 will feature keynote sessions, panel discussions, and technical programming on topics including global manufacturing strategies, machine tool innovation, smart technologies in Canadian manufacturing, and preparing the workforce for Industry 4.0. Content will be delivered on the Main Stage in the SME Zone and at the Tech Hub located on the show floor.
The show is backed by leading industry bodies, including the Canadian Machine Tool Distributors Association, Canadian Tooling & Machining Association, Automotive Parts Manufacturers’ Association, Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters, CWB-EWI, and NGen. Canadian Metalworking is serving as the official media partner, ensuring widespread coverage of the event.
With capital investment in Canada’s manufacturing sector forecast to rise 15.5% in 2025 to \$38.4 billion, CMTS 2025 offers manufacturers a timely opportunity to explore technologies that improve productivity, streamline operations, and strengthen domestic and global trade relationships.
As Canadian manufacturing accelerates into a new era of smart factories and digital transformation, CMTS 2025 will be a pivotal event for shaping the industry’s future.
