Hindsight is such a wonderful thing, before Christmas none of us would have foreseen the country in lockdown with severe business and travel restrictions. Whilst the world of exhibitions and events has been temporarily put on hold, MTDCNC looks back at the BlechExpo exhibition that took place back in November.
This video gives us two insights, on one hand we can look at the event and what we missed. And secondly, we can appreciate how the digital world has moved forward – and you can now watch show highlights and educate yourself via the MTDCNC.Global platform. From the comfort of your home office, you can gain an understanding and knowledge of the available technology – taking the legwork out of the shopping process as and when it arrives…
From our trip to Stuttgart to the 14th BlechExpo international trade fair for sheet metal working, we were certainly impressed to see 1498 exhibitors from 36 countries and more than 40,000 visitors all cram into 108,000sq/m of exhibition space for just a 3-day event.
With engineers from 113 countries descending on the capital of southwest Germany’s Baden-Württemberg state to investigate the latest sheet metal, pipe and profile processing, as well as cutting, joining, forming and welding technologies; the exhibition had plenty to see. Held every two years, the Blechexpo and co-located Schweisstec trade fair duo has followed the trend of other manufacturing shows in 2019, becoming more digitalised and automated than ever before. This made technical discussions and open forums livelier with the importance of Industry 4.0, sustainability, process efficiency and future-proofing solutions in the wake of a rapidly changing production environment a key focus point.
At the show, the MTD team had a remarkably busy couple of days, filming videos on a multitude of stands that include Abacus GmbH, Amada, Andritz, Bihler, Bodor, Bystronic, Fladder, Gom, Humard, Lissmac, Loeser, LVD Group, Prima Power, Salvagnini, Ficep and many many more. You can take a look at our ‘overview’ video of the event or you can scroll through the dozens of technically charged video content that we filmed at the event. If you couldn’t make it to the show back in November and you are now considering technical solutions from the world of sheet metal – you really need to be scrolling through our exceptional video coverage from the world’s leading sheet metal exhibition.
