Schneider Electric, a global leader in energy management and automation, has announced the acquisition of WattBuy, a U.S.-based software company specializing in energy insights and electrification tools for residential customers. The move strengthens Schneider Electric’s efforts to simplify and accelerate the transition to electric-powered homes across the United States, reflecting growing consumer demand for smarter, cleaner, and more cost-effective energy solutions.

WattBuy has built its reputation as a data-driven platform that delivers personalized recommendations on electricity plans, rooftop solar, battery systems, and overall energy cost projections. Its software tools are API-based and already integrated into widely used platforms such as Redfin, Veterans United Home Loans, and Opendoor, collectively reaching more than 100 million consumers. This broad reach makes WattBuy an influential player in helping homeowners better understand and optimize their energy consumption.

Under the acquisition, WattBuy’s leadership team will remain intact, with CEO and Co-Founder Naman Trivedi continuing to oversee company operations. The company will now operate closely alongside Schneider Electric’s other residential energy-focused subsidiaries, including EnergySage, a leading platform for solar and battery storage solutions, and Qmerit, which specializes in electrification installations such as EV charging stations and home energy upgrades.

The integration of WattBuy with EnergySage and Qmerit creates a unified ecosystem for residential energy management. Homeowners will be able to explore, compare, and implement electrification solutions—such as solar panels, home battery storage, and EV chargers—through a streamlined process tailored to their location and specific energy needs. The result is a comprehensive offering that empowers consumers to make informed decisions, reduce energy costs, and lower their environmental footprint.

Commenting on the acquisition, Jaser Faruq, Senior Vice President of Schneider Electric’s Prosumer division, highlighted the strategic fit: “WattBuy brings strong personalization capabilities that align with our goals of helping homeowners make informed energy decisions. The integration will support a more streamlined process for residential energy upgrades.”

Naman Trivedi, CEO of WattBuy, also emphasized the significance of the move: “Joining Schneider Electric marks an important step for WattBuy. Working with EnergySage and Qmerit allows us to offer a complete solution for homeowners looking to manage energy use, cut costs, and reduce environmental impact.”

The acquisition comes at a time when residential electrification is gaining momentum, driven by policy incentives, technological advances, and consumer interest in sustainable living. Schneider Electric’s expansion into this space underscores its commitment to decarbonization at the local level and its strategy to lead the transition toward smart, fully electrified homes. By leveraging WattBuy’s digital expertise, Schneider Electric is enhancing its ability to deliver scalable, personalized energy solutions to millions of U.S. households.

Founded to simplify energy decision-making for both residential and business customers, WattBuy uses proprietary data analytics to provide tailored insights that help users compare electricity providers, estimate solar and battery storage costs, and optimize total energy use. Its integration into Schneider Electric’s broader ecosystem ensures that these capabilities will now reach even more consumers while being supported by Schneider’s global resources and innovation.

With this acquisition, Schneider Electric is positioning itself not just as a technology provider but as a comprehensive partner for homeowners navigating the energy transition. The combination of digital tools, marketplace platforms, and on-the-ground installation services creates a powerful model for accelerating adoption of renewable energy and electrification solutions across the U.S.
