Sanghvi Movers Limited (SML), India’s largest and one of the world’s top five crane rental companies, has appointed Gaurang Desai as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Gaurang, with over 28 years of leadership experience across global, multicultural environments, brings extensive expertise in high-growth strategies, P&L management, and EBITDA optimization.
Founded in 1989, Sanghvi Movers offers integrated heavy-lifting solutions across diverse sectors, including power, steel, cement, fertilizers, petrochemicals, refineries, metros, and wind energy. The company operates a fleet of over 400 high-capacity cranes, serving more than 130 operational job sites across India.
Rishi Sanghvi, Managing Director at Sanghvi Movers, expressed his excitement about Gaurang’s appointment, emphasizing the new CEO’s diverse business perspective and leadership qualities that align with the company’s growth ambitions.
Gaurang’s leadership background includes successful business transformations and strategic partnerships across industries, having worked at UMSL Ltd, Parksons Packaging Ltd, and Welspun Group. He has played a key role in launching new business initiatives and establishing cross-border joint ventures, particularly in the US, Europe, and Asia.
With a Master’s in Business Administration and a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, Gaurang is well-equipped to steer SML’s continued expansion in sectors such as infrastructure, power, oil & gas, and construction. As the new CEO, he will focus on strengthening SML’s market position, fostering innovation, and driving the company’s next phase of growth.
