Apollo Tyres Ltd. has announced the appointment of Rajeev Kumar Sinha as the new Chief Manufacturing Officer (CMO). The board of directors authorized the appointment through a circular resolution, following a recommendation from the company’s Nomination and Remuneration Committee. Sinha’s appointment represents a significant restructuring of Apollo Tyres’ senior management team, aimed at strengthening operational efficiency across its manufacturing facilities.

As part of this restructuring, Apollo Tyres informed the National Stock Exchange of India and BSE Ltd. through a regulatory filing that unit heads from various plants in India will no longer be classified as senior management under the SEBI standards. However, the company emphasized that these unit heads, including those from plants in Limda, Chennai, Kerala, and AP, will continue in their current roles and will now directly report to the newly appointed CMO, Rajeev Kumar Sinha.

Rajeev Kumar Sinha brings with him a wealth of experience, spanning over 35 years across multiple industries. Before joining Apollo Tyres, Sinha held senior leadership roles at PepsiCo, where he served as the Executive Vice President and Global Head of several operations. Additionally, he has been instrumental in managing operations, productivity, and sustainability at Glenmark Pharmaceuticals in his capacity as Global Head.

Sinha holds a Mechanical Engineering degree from the prestigious IIT Kanpur, which laid the foundation for his extensive career in operations and manufacturing leadership. His experience in handling large-scale operations and enhancing productivity will be critical in driving Apollo Tyres’ manufacturing strategy forward.

With the new reporting structure, plant heads including Piush Bansal (Limda Plant), C. Thomas Mathew (Chennai Plant), George Oommen (Kerala Plant), and Anand Sathyamoorthy (AP Plant), who were previously considered part of the senior management, will now report directly to Sinha. Despite this change in classification under SEBI regulations, these leaders will continue overseeing their respective plants and ensuring that the company’s manufacturing goals are met efficiently.

Rajeev Kumar Sinha’s appointment is a key step in Apollo Tyres’ ongoing efforts to refine its operational processes and drive sustainable growth across its manufacturing network. With his leadership, Apollo Tyres is set to continue optimizing its operations, ensuring high-quality production, and maintaining its competitive edge in the global tyre manufacturing industry.

This leadership change comes at an exciting time for the company as it looks to further cement its position as a leading player in the automotive sector.
