Muratec Fabrication Duo Supports Intelligent Parts Handling!

Murata Machinery USA Inc. has unveiled its MF30510HL combination punch press/fiber laser system, paired with the FG3015 advanced sorting loader, offering manufacturers a fully integrated solution for intelligent sheet metal fabrication. Designed to streamline workflows and reduce manual intervention, the system supports lights-out production while delivering flexibility for high-mix manufacturing environments.

The MF30510HL consolidates multiple operations into a single process, integrating punching, laser cutting, forming, tapping, and deburring. With a 30-ton punching capacity and a 4.0 kW fiber laser, it provides high-speed processing across a 5′ × 10′ work envelope. This configuration eliminates the need for multiple machines or setups, helping job shops increase efficiency and reduce floor space requirements. By combining punching and laser cutting with auxiliary forming and finishing functions, the machine is positioned as a comprehensive fabrication platform capable of handling diverse part geometries.

Complementing this multifunctional machine, the FG3015 advanced sorting loader automates part handling and sorting with precision. Featuring servo-controlled operation, edge detection, and sheet separation, the system incorporates a FANUC-based flexible manufacturing system (FMS) for seamless integration into automated environments. Its multipad vacuum arm automatically adapts to part size, shape, and material, supporting the production of micro jointless parts while handling mixed part sizes within the same cycle. Programmable stacking patterns further optimize downstream processes, ensuring a smooth transition from fabrication to assembly or packaging.

The FG3015’s compact right-side layout also saves valuable floor space, making it an efficient addition to shops looking to maximize productivity without expanding their footprint. Together, the MF30510HL and FG3015 provide a scalable solution for manufacturers facing labor shortages, growing part complexity, and demands for faster turnaround times.

According to Jeff Kalmbach, general manager of Muratec USA’s Machine Tools Division, combining the MF30510HL with the FG3015 represents “a significant step in streamlining sheet metal manufacturing.” He emphasized that the system is engineered for multifunctionality, helping job shops operate faster and smarter in today’s competitive landscape.
