MTD Sniffs Out Interviews With Bloodhound Team During Test Days
This week from today to the 30th October, the Bloodhound SSC team is testing its jet propelled projectile and MTDCNC has already been on-site filming exclusive interviews with high profile members of the Bloodhound SSC team.
The testing days are taking place at the Aerohub at Cornwall Airport in Newquay, 20 years after Wing Commander and pilot Andrew Green OBE set the current World Land Speed Record of 763.035mph. MTDCNC’s Giovanni and Colin were at the first testing day and our lads conducted interviews with high profile members of the Bloodhound team, including exclusive interviews with Project Director Richard Noble OBE and Wing Commander and Pilot Andrew Green OBE. Keep your eyes peeled and follow our social channels as the footage of the 1000mph will be on-line in the next few days.
The aim of the 200mph test runs on the 1.7mile runway is to prove-out the steering, brakes, suspension, data systems and other functions. Of vital importance during the test runs is the integration of the EJ200 Rolls Royce jet engine that is normally found in a Eurofighter Typhoon that produces a thrust of 20,000lbs – for petrol heads that’s the equivalent of 54,000bhp. Check in with us later this week to see our exclusive footage of this event that is undoubtedly an engineering marvel.
