Kloeckner Metals to Enhance Production with Laser Blanking Line at Queretaro Facility!

Kloeckner Metals, a major processor of steel and metal products based in Roswell, Georgia, has announced plans to install a Schuler coil-fed laser blanking line at its Queretaro, Mexico facility. The installation is set to begin in late 2025, with production expected to start in mid-2026. This new addition, spanning 93,700 square feet, will significantly enhance the company’s capabilities in processing both exposed and unexposed aluminum and steel blanks. The line will accommodate a variety of shape configurations and thicknesses, ranging from 0.02 to 0.10 inches, with widths up to 74 inches and lengths up to 175 inches.

The introduction of this laser blanking line will streamline the production process by eliminating the need for die building, tool maintenance, and die storage. Real-time engineering changes will allow for faster trial runs and shorter production cycles, improving efficiency and reducing time-to-market. The line will be capable of providing precise tolerances and uninterrupted production once the metal is available, meeting the growing demand for high-quality blanks.

Kloeckner Metals has partnered with BWD Technologies LLC to complete the line. This collaboration will provide Kloeckner with immediate access to BWD’s high-speed coil-fed laser blanking capabilities in Dearborn, Michigan, enabling the company to meet customer demand across its 55 facilities in the U.S. and Mexico. The addition of this advanced technology underscores Kloeckner’s commitment to innovation and improving production efficiency across its operations.
