Kennametal Unveils Advanced Mining and Wear Protection Solutions at IMME India 2024!

Kennametal India Limited is showcasing its latest innovations in mining and wear protection technologies at the International Mining and Machinery Exhibition (IMME) India, held from October 23-26 at the Science City Exhibition Ground in Kolkata. The company is introducing a range of advanced products aimed at boosting efficiency, safety, and longevity in mining operations.
Among the new products on display are two state-of-the-art picks and an innovative round drill steel system, each designed to meet specific customer needs. PrimePoint™, featuring a polycrystalline diamond (PCD) tip, offers greater hardness than traditional tungsten carbide, significantly reducing abrasive wear. This allows longwall operators to extend mining intervals, minimizing downtime and enhancing productivity. On the other hand, PlusPoint™ is built for tougher geological conditions, using an extra-durable grade to penetrate hard rock formations, reducing tool usage and downtime for continuous miners.
In addition, Kennametal is introducing the Defender™ Round Drill Steel System, designed to tackle poor roof geology and water infiltration. This system improves safety while generating less dust and noise compared to traditional hex steel. Key features include thicker, repairable round steel, a self-aligning hands-free chuck, and spline-drive adapters that allow faster drilling of larger holes, enhancing both efficiency and safety in mining operations.
Kennametal is also showcasing its surface mining solutions, including blocks, picks, and conical tools with a unique taper tip design that boosts performance and productivity. The company’s KenCast™ wear protection solutions will be highlighted, offering up to six times the equipment lifespan and reducing repair costs and downtime.
For underground mining operations, Kennametal is displaying solutions for continuous miners, road headers, longwall shearers, feeder breakers, drills, and roof bolters. All these tools are designed to help mining operations achieve higher productivity and efficiency, further establishing Kennametal as a leader in mining innovation.
