IntelliCAD Technology Consortium Launches IntelliCAD 14.0 with Major Performance, Interface, and Workflow Enhancements!
By Ashutosh Arora
The IntelliCAD Technology Consortium (ITC) has officially released IntelliCAD 14.0, marking one of the most significant updates in the platform’s history. This major release focuses on boosting performance, refining the user interface, and introducing practical new tools aimed at streamlining daily CAD workflows for professionals across industries.
One of the standout changes in IntelliCAD 14.0 is the modernized interface, now featuring a dark theme designed to enhance visual comfort during extended design sessions or low-light work environments. Users can also choose between Dark, Light, and Gray themes for a personalized experience, complemented by refreshed, high-clarity icons that improve usability.
Performance has been significantly enhanced for frequently used commands such as Copy, Break, Move, and Union, allowing smoother, faster execution. The release also introduces the ability to generate QR codes directly within designs using the QRTEXT and QRLEADER commands, providing a practical way to embed scannable data in technical drawings.
Productivity gains extend to table management, with auto-fill functionality simplifying repetitive entries. The Data Extraction tool now includes a new filter option, enabling more refined control over output. For users working on multi-monitor setups, IntelliCAD 14.0 offers detachable drawing windows, and the command window now supports adjustable transparency for better visibility over complex designs.
On the file compatibility front, IntelliCAD 14.0 supports Autodesk Revit 2025 files, adds SVG import capabilities, and delivers an improved DGN import process. Geospatial workflows also benefit from new Esri imagery integration in the GEO command, replacing the discontinued Microsoft Bing Maps service.
Developers and automation-focused users will appreciate enhanced APIs for both LISP and the .NET platform. The new VLISP command launches the IntelliCAD Lisp Debugger in Visual Studio Code, while newly added LISP functions provide more direct access to object properties. On the .NET side, several view-related functions have received performance boosts, making custom tool development more responsive.
“IntelliCAD 14.0 reflects our commitment to listening to real-world feedback from our members and delivering the tools they need most,” said Shawn Lindsay, President of the IntelliCAD Technology Consortium. “We remain focused on providing an open, dependable platform that developers can build on, while continuing to offer a powerful alternative in the CAD software market.”
The new release is compatible with Microsoft® Windows® 11, Windows 10, and Windows 8 (64-bit), with IntelliCAD Mobile Viewer available for Windows desktop, Google® Android™, Apple® macOS®, and iOS.
