Hikrobot Launches High-Precision 3D Laser Profile Sensor in India!
By Ashutosh Arora
Hikrobot has introduced its high-precision 3D laser profile sensor to the Indian market, bringing advanced non-contact measurement capabilities to manufacturers in the consumer electronics, lithium battery, and PCB industries. Designed to meet the growing demand for ultra-accurate, real-time inspection solutions, the sensor leverages laser triangulation technology to generate detailed point clouds, depth images, and intensity images with micrometre-level accuracy. This launch strengthens India’s access to next-generation inspection systems that support higher production quality and increased automation.
A key highlight of this new sensor is its ability to deliver high-frame-rate point clouds at exceptional precision, enabling manufacturers to capture even the smallest deviations on components. Built to perform reliably under diverse conditions, the sensor supports multiple exposure modes and can integrate several image frames to develop a complete and stable 3D profile of the target object. Various built-in filter modes further ensure that output data remains consistent, even when surfaces or lighting conditions fluctuate.
At the core of the device is a highly optimised computing architecture that supports real-time image processing speeds of up to 49K Hz. This remarkable processing capability is driven by large-pixel sensors, high frame rates, and Hikrobot’s proprietary centre point extraction algorithm, which enhances measurement accuracy to within 0.05 pixels. The system also incorporates multi-exposure fusion and single-frame HDR imaging, making it exceptionally effective in handling components with varying reflectivity—an essential requirement for modern electronic and battery manufacturing lines.
The non-contact nature of the sensor offers several advantages, especially for delicate or high-value components where physical probing could lead to damage or measurement inconsistencies. With submicron-level accuracy and the ability to capture and process data instantly, manufacturers can make faster, more informed decisions during inspections, quality checks, and process corrections. This significantly reduces production errors, improves device reliability, and enhances overall operational efficiency.
Industries such as consumer electronics benefit from precise inspection of micro-components and assemblies, while lithium battery manufacturers can use the sensor to evaluate cell components with greater confidence. In PCB production, where accuracy and traceability are critical, the sensor enables detailed 3D measurement of board profiles, solder joints, and surface variations. By offering robust performance in complex environments and ensuring superior measurement reliability, Hikrobot’s 3D laser profile sensor emerges as a powerful tool for quality assurance across several high-growth, technology-driven sectors in India.
With this launch, Hikrobot aims to accelerate the adoption of intelligent inspection technologies and support India’s rapidly advancing manufacturing ecosystem, particularly as companies embrace automation and high-precision production standards.
