Hero MotoCorp Ltd, the world’s largest manufacturer of motorcycles and scooters, has announced the appointment of Madhuri Mehta as its new Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), effective October 1, 2025. In this role, Mehta will be responsible for leading the company’s global human resources strategy, focusing on talent development, organisational culture, and aligning people practices with the company’s long-term business objectives. Her appointment underscores Hero MotoCorp’s commitment to building a future-ready workforce as it navigates the next phase of growth in an increasingly competitive and evolving mobility sector.

Welcoming Mehta to the leadership team, Pawan Munjal, Executive Chairman of Hero MotoCorp, highlighted the significance of this appointment at a time of strategic transformation. “Her ability to connect people strategy with business outcomes will play a pivotal role in shaping the next phase of our growth journey as we strengthen our global footprint and future readiness,” Munjal said. His statement reflects the company’s recognition that human capital will be central to addressing challenges such as rapid electrification, technological disruptions, and changing customer expectations across international markets.

Mehta brings with her more than two decades of diverse leadership experience in human resources. She joins Hero MotoCorp from Emaar India, where she served as CHRO and Head of Communities, playing an instrumental role in shaping organisational policies and community engagement. Prior to this, she spent 16 years with the Dalmia Bharat Group, holding several senior HR leadership positions. Her responsibilities there included serving as HR Head for the cement business, Corporate HR Head, and later as Executive Director – HR. Over the course of her career, she has established a strong track record in driving transformation, building high-performance teams, and aligning HR functions with broader corporate strategy.

Her academic background is equally impressive, with a BA (Hons) degree in Sociology from Lady Shri Ram College, University of Delhi, and a postgraduate diploma in Business Management from the Fore School of Management. This combination of academic grounding and practical leadership experience positions her well to take on the complexities of leading a global HR function at Hero MotoCorp.

The timing of this appointment is strategically significant. Hero MotoCorp is in the midst of expanding its global presence, while simultaneously focusing on future-ready talent development and workplace innovation. With the automotive and two-wheeler industry undergoing rapid change—driven by technological advancements, the transition to electric mobility, and growing emphasis on sustainability—the role of human resources has never been more critical. As companies seek to reinvent themselves, HR leaders are expected to not only manage people operations but also act as strategic partners in shaping organisational resilience and adaptability.

By bringing Madhuri Mehta on board, Hero MotoCorp is signaling its intent to strengthen leadership in human capital management as a foundation for sustainable growth. Her experience across industries, coupled with her ability to integrate people strategy with business imperatives, is expected to provide the company with a competitive edge in building an agile, innovative, and engaged workforce for the future.
