Grand Steel Products, a leading flat-rolled steel service center and distributor based in Wixom, MI, has expanded its operations with the acquisition of a new toll-processing facility in Chattanooga, TN. This strategic move strengthens the company’s presence in the Southern United States, building on its existing operations in Clinton, TN.
The new 126,000-square-foot Chattanooga facility is equipped with two cutting-edge 72-inch slitting and packaging lines, as well as a multi-blanker. It also features rail and barge capabilities, allowing the facility to handle coils up to 40 tons via barge and 30 tons via rail. These enhanced capabilities make it a key player in toll processing, especially for the automotive and manufacturing sectors in the region.
This acquisition aligns with Grand Steel’s broader strategy to expand its toll-processing and distribution services across the United States, offering additional value to its southern vendors and customers. The Chattanooga facility will play a crucial role in serving the company’s growing client base in the Southern U.S. market, reinforcing Grand Steel’s commitment to providing high-quality, efficient services to its customers.
