Godrej Tooling and Partners Host Diecast Summit 2025!

Godrej Enterprises Group’s Tooling business, along with its global technology partners, successfully hosted the Diecast Summit 2025 in Mumbai on August 19, 2025. The event brought together industry leaders, technology providers, and manufacturers to spotlight innovation and address the future needs of diecasting technology. Organized in collaboration with Voestalpine, Oskar Frech Group, Magma, and Kraemer & Grebe, the summit served as a platform for dialogue and knowledge sharing among stakeholders committed to advancing diecasting capabilities in India and beyond.

The event was attended by more than 100 representatives from leading organizations such as Honda, Mahindra, Tata Motors, Endurance Technologies, Super Auto India, Sound Castings, Uno Minda, and Spark Minda. Several industry bodies also participated, underlining the importance of diecasting to multiple sectors including automotive, aerospace, and industrial manufacturing. By bringing together this diverse group of stakeholders, the summit underscored the role of collaboration in shaping the next phase of the industry’s growth.

With the theme “Understanding the Future Needs of Customers,” the Diecast Summit 2025 focused on the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead in diecasting. Sessions explored a wide range of topics including advanced simulation techniques, state-of-the-art diecasting equipment, the use of superior die steels, and the adoption of global best practices in die design. Discussions highlighted the need for technology-driven innovation, capability building for complex structural castings, and preparation for emerging applications in aerospace. The event also emphasized the importance of creating a resilient ecosystem that can provide end-to-end solutions to customers while meeting global standards of quality and efficiency.

The participation of international technology leaders further enriched the summit. Representatives such as Sebastian Siversten of Uddeholm AB, Thomas Koessler of Kraemer & Grebe, Roland Luschtinetz of Oskar Frech Group, and Gunther Prunner of Voestalpine AG shared insights on advancements in materials, processes, and equipment. Their contributions showcased how global expertise can be integrated with India’s manufacturing capabilities to strengthen competitiveness. Yashwant Reddy of Magma and R. T. Kulkarni of GDC Tech also offered perspectives on simulation technologies and practical diecasting applications, adding further depth to the discussions.

In his address, Pankaj Abhyankar, Executive Vice President and Business Head of the Tooling business at Godrej Enterprises Group, stressed the importance of collective efforts in moving the industry forward. He highlighted the need for agility, dependability, precision, and adaptability as key attributes that manufacturers must adopt to stay competitive. Abhyankar also emphasized the role of advanced tooling and process integration in reducing production lead times, which is critical for meeting the evolving demands of customers in fast-moving industries like automotive and aerospace.

The summit ultimately reinforced the view that the diecasting industry is at a transformative stage, where collaboration between global technology providers and Indian manufacturers is essential for success. By fostering innovation and preparing for future applications, particularly in areas such as aerospace and electric mobility, the industry is positioning itself to deliver sustainable and competitive solutions.
