Emuge-Franken USA has introduced its TiNox-Cut VAR high-performance end mills, designed specifically for machining challenging materials such as stainless steel, titanium, Inconel, nickel alloys, and other hard-to-cut aerospace-grade metals. Built to deliver exceptional metal removal rates while extending tool life, these American-made end mills combine advanced geometries, premium carbide substrates, and specialized coatings to handle both roughing and finishing operations with precision and efficiency. The “VAR” designation reflects their versatility, American manufacturing quality, and reliable performance.

The TiNox-Cut VAR line is available in four distinct versions, each tailored to meet specific machining requirements. The TiNox-Cut VAR-NF model is a high-performance roughing tool suitable for all difficult-to-machine materials, excelling in Inconel and titanium applications. It incorporates a fine chipbreaker design that reduces chip size and lowers cutting forces, enhancing both tool stability and workpiece surface quality. The TiNox-Cut VAR-N is purpose-built for titanium and titanium alloys, featuring five flutes for high feed rates and a raised land to improve chip clearance. This version is also offered with a standard corner radius, making it ideal for high-speed finishing and semi-finishing work.

For general-purpose applications, the TiNox-Cut VAR Base provides an entry-level, universal option for machining stainless and acid-resistant steels. It offers balanced performance for both roughing and finishing, giving shops a cost-effective solution without compromising quality. The TiNox-Cut VAR Trochoidal variant is engineered for trochoidal milling, a technique that combines circular and linear motion to achieve high metal removal rates with minimal stress and vibration. This makes it especially effective for thin-walled components and difficult materials, even on low-powered machines.

All TiNox-Cut VAR end mills are manufactured from premium submicron-grade solid carbide with maximized transverse rupture strength to withstand the extreme demands of high-performance machining. A PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) coating enhances resistance to heat and wear, while axial internal coolant channels ensure optimal chip evacuation and cooling—both critical for maintaining cutting efficiency in high-temperature alloys. The series is available in four- and five-flute configurations, with trochoidal cutters also offered in seven-flute metric designs. Length options include up to 4 × D for standard models and 5 × D for extended trochoidal versions, with diameters ranging from 0.125” to 1” in inch sizes and 6–20 mm in metric.

For added machining rigidity and pullout resistance, certain models are available with Weldon shanks, which pair perfectly with Emuge-Franken’s FPC milling chucks featuring an anti-pullout pin lock system. According to Craig Gosselin, Milling Products Manager at Emuge-Franken USA, “The TiNox-Cut VAR end mill design offers milling versatility for a range of hard-to-cut aerospace materials—from stainless steel and titanium to Inconel and nickel alloys—making it ideal for demanding, high-impact machining applications.”

With the TiNox-Cut VAR series, Emuge-Franken reinforces its reputation as a trusted provider of precision tooling solutions, delivering performance, reliability, and material mastery for industries where efficiency and accuracy are paramount.
