Elista Opens Rs 250 Crore Manufacturing Hub in Andhra Pradesh!
By Ashutosh Arora
Elista has inaugurated a new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Kadapa, Andhra Pradesh, marking a major milestone in its journey from an import-reliant challenger brand to a key player in India’s self-reliant electronics manufacturing landscape. The 1.32 lakh square foot facility has been established through a phased investment of Rs 250 crore and is designed to significantly boost India’s domestic electronics production while also enhancing the country’s export potential.
The Kadapa hub has already made its mark on the global stage by dispatching its first export consignment under the India-Dubai Free Trade Agreement. The shipment, consisting of 650 premium Smart TVs valued at Rs 2.55 crore (approximately US\$ 300,000), was sent to Dubai. This achievement reflects Elista’s growing ambition to not only serve Indian consumers but also position itself as a strong competitor in international markets.
In terms of capacity, the facility is designed to manufacture up to one million Smart TVs and one million LED monitors annually. Phase 2 of the project will expand production into other product categories, including washing machines, dishwashers, and smart accessories. By diversifying its portfolio, Elista aims to strengthen its presence across multiple electronics segments and support the government’s broader push to establish India as a global manufacturing hub.
Speaking on the occasion, Saket Gaurav, Chairman and Managing Director of Elista, highlighted how far the company has come in a short span of time. “In four years, we’ve gone from being a challenger brand to creating products that stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the best in the world — and now, we are building them here in India. The Kadapa facility is the embodiment of our Make in India ambition, proving that India can deliver premium electronics faster, better, and more cost-effectively to global markets,” he said.
The facility is equipped with advanced technologies, including automated assembly lines, robotics, and intelligent quality assurance systems. These capabilities not only streamline production but also reduce costs, giving Elista a competitive advantage in both domestic and international markets. By integrating automation and intelligent systems, the plant is positioned to ensure consistent product quality while improving efficiency and reducing turnaround times.
A key focus of the new facility is innovation tailored to Indian consumers. One flagship initiative is the development of a localized Smart TV interface that recommends regional apps and content based on user location. This approach combines technology with India’s cultural diversity, ensuring that each consumer enjoys a personalized and relevant experience. At the same time, such innovations demonstrate India’s ability to contribute to the global electronics landscape with ideas rooted in local insights.
Looking ahead, Elista has ambitious expansion plans. The company intends to establish additional facilities in India to further strengthen domestic manufacturing, accelerate new product launches, and expand its export footprint. By building more production capacity, Elista hopes to meet rising demand both within India and in overseas markets, while also contributing to India’s growing reputation as a hub for innovation-driven electronics manufacturing.
The opening of the Kadapa facility signals a new chapter for Elista — one that underscores the company’s commitment to the Make in India vision while simultaneously embracing the philosophy of “Making in India for the World.”
