DN Solutions has officially broken ground on its new plant and R&D center at the ITIR (Information Technology Investment Region) industrial complex near Bengaluru International Airport. The groundbreaking ceremony, held on August 13, 2025, was attended by over 50 participants, including DN Solutions India Managing Director Young-sam Kim, company employees, and partner representatives. The event symbolized both a new chapter in the company’s India journey and a collective wish for safety and zero accidents during the construction period.

The new facility marks a significant step in DN Solutions’ localization strategy. Once completed, the plant will substantially increase production capacity in India while also focusing on products customized for local requirements. Among its first offerings will be the SVM 4100i vertical machining center, a model that has already received strong positive feedback from Indian customers. Mass production is scheduled to begin in the first half of next year, reflecting the company’s commitment to speed and efficiency in meeting growing demand.

In parallel with infrastructure expansion, DN Solutions has invested heavily in human capital. In July, the company conducted its largest-ever recruitment drive in India, hiring a large group of university graduates specializing in mechanical, electrical, and electronic engineering. The new recruits, with an average age of just 22, hail from top universities in Bengaluru and Karnataka. They will play a central role in the development, customization, and production systems of the new facility, while also representing the next generation of engineering talent powering DN Solutions’ growth in the region.

This investment is part of DN Solutions’ mid- to long-term strategy for India, which envisions building both a plant and a research and development hub in Bengaluru, with the goal of hiring more than 500 employees locally by 2032. The company views India as a crucial market for future growth, citing the country’s status as the world’s most populous nation and one of the fastest-growing economies. Strong demand for machine tools is expected from key industries such as automobiles, electronics, and energy infrastructure. The Indian government’s active support for manufacturing and foreign direct investment further reinforces the strategic importance of this expansion.

Bengaluru itself is a carefully chosen location. Known as the “Silicon Valley of India,” the city offers a unique mix of advanced talent pools, strong supply chains, and favorable policies. About a quarter of India’s machine tool companies are concentrated in the city, making it a natural hub for global manufacturers. Companies such as Foxconn and several Korean firms have already established or expanded their bases there, creating a dynamic ecosystem that DN Solutions will now be a part of.

Speaking about the milestone, DN Solutions CEO Won-jong Kim said, “With the groundbreaking of our new plant and the recruitment of young talent, DN Solutions has become even closer to Indian manufacturing. We will continue striving to be a company that contributes to the prosperity of India’s manufacturing industry.”

Headquartered in Changwon, South Korea, DN Solutions is a global leader in CNC machine tools and smart manufacturing solutions. With more than 290,000 machines sold across 66 countries and over 140 service and sales offices worldwide, the company offers a comprehensive portfolio that includes machining centers, turning centers, automation systems, and metal additive manufacturing solutions. Its investment in Bengaluru marks a major step in aligning its global expertise with India’s rapidly advancing industrial future.
