Compact Enhancements take Centre Stage – SOUTHERN MANUFACTURING 2019

Hurco will be showcasing the very latest software developments available on the Max5 control. The Solid model import option will be shown in addition to the popular and easy to use conversational routines.

In the past it was only possible to load 2D DXF files directly into the control to create conversational data blocks. Now it is possible to import STEP or IGES files including splines and Z depths. For 5 sided parts, transform plane commands are calculated automatically.

One of the exhibits at Southern Manufacturing will be the compact Hurco VM5i machining centre with a working volume of 457 x 356 x 356 mm. Capable of fitting into a space less that 2m wide and able to fit under a doorway 2m high, visitors will be impressed by the ability of this machine to offer true machining centre performance. Steel cutting demonstrations will take place through the duration of the show.

Sharing equal prominence on the stand will be a Hurco TM6i 2-axis CNC lathe. It turns parts up to 316mm in diameter, 340mm long, and is well suited to bar work up to 45mm diameter. The performance of this compact, accurate turning machine is complemented by the Max5 control. Simple, easy-to-follow graphics guide the user through all operations and tooling options. The new XP model enhancements mean that concurrent programming, improved graphics and roller guideways are now standard feature.

The slant-bed lathe is supplied as standard with a 6-inch hydraulic three-jaw chuck, parts catcher, swarf conveyor and vouchers for MacInnes coolant and lubricants, plus £500 worth of Dormer Pramet tooling.
