Ather Energy Strengthens International Presence with Launch of Rizta Family Scooter in Nepal!
By Ashutosh Arora
In a significant step towards expanding its international footprint, Ather Energy has launched its Rizta family scooter in Nepal. This move marks a new chapter in the company’s overseas journey, targeting a broader segment of riders who value comfort, practicality, and advanced features in their daily commutes. The launch builds on Ather’s growing success in Nepal, a market it entered in November 2023 with the popular Ather 450 series, followed by the introduction of the 2025 Ather 450 earlier this year.
Ather has made rapid strides in strengthening its presence in Nepal through its partnership with Vaidya Energy Pvt. Ltd., which operates 9 Experience Centres and 6 Service Centres across key locations in the country. To ensure a seamless EV ownership experience, the company has also installed 22 Ather Grid fast chargers—a critical step in building the charging infrastructure necessary to support the growing adoption of electric mobility.
The Ather Rizta has been designed specifically to appeal to family riders. It offers a spacious 56-litre under-seat storage compartment, ample legroom with an extended floorboard, and a wide, comfortable seat to make long rides more pleasant. Safety has been a key focus, with the integration of SkidControl™ technology, which provides enhanced stability and control in challenging riding conditions.
In terms of technology, the Rizta is equipped with a 7-inch TFT dashboard that brings together multiple smart features. Riders can enjoy Google Maps navigation directly on the display, manage calls, and stream music via Bluetooth connectivity. The dashboard runs on AtherStack™ Pro, the company’s proprietary software platform, ensuring a smooth, intuitive, and connected riding experience.
Commenting on the launch, Ravneet Singh Phokela, Chief Business Officer at Ather Energy, expressed optimism about the Rizta’s potential in Nepal. “Nepal was our first international market, and over the last two years, we have seen strong consumer interest and a very encouraging response to the Ather 450 series. To meet the growing demand, we have steadily expanded our footprint across the country. With the Rizta, we are tapping into a new segment of family buyers who prioritise comfort and convenience in their everyday rides. We are hopeful the Rizta will receive the same warm reception as the 450 series,” he said.
Ather’s expansion into Nepal is part of a broader international strategy. After its successful debut in Nepal in November 2023, the company entered Sri Lanka in December 2024, reflecting its ambition to establish itself as a leading premium EV brand in South Asia.
On the domestic front, Ather continues to maintain a strong network in India with 446 Experience Centres and 3,997 Ather Grid fast chargers, along with several Neighbourhood Chargers, enabling convenient and widespread access to charging.
With the Rizta’s launch in Nepal, Ather Energy is not only addressing the mobility needs of families but also reinforcing its commitment to sustainable, tech-driven, and rider-friendly solutions—both in its home market and abroad. This expansion signals the company’s intent to remain at the forefront of electric two-wheeler innovation in the region.
