Arthur Field Puts Emuge Franken EvoGrip to the Test – Live on YouTube
By Arthur Field
Today on our North American YouTube channel, Arthur Field went live with a bold machining demonstration that had everyone on the edge of their seats.
The setup:
- A massive block of 4140 steel, clamped with less than 5mm of grip.
- A brand-new Okuma MU8000 5-axis machining center.
- The Emuge Franken EvoGrip toolholding system, put in the spotlight to prove its performance.
The first challenge was brutal: a 3/4″ end mill ripping into the steel at aggressive speeds and feeds. With so little material holding the part in place, the question was simple:
👉 Would the EvoGrip hold its ground?
👉 Or would the Okuma end up in need of a very expensive repair?
Arthur walked viewers through every stage of the test – the setup, the tooling, and the risks. He explained why clamping security is critical in high-performance machining, especially when working with tough materials like 4140 steel.
The live audience got to witness the EvoGrip’s gripping force in action under real-world stress, with the MU8000 showing off its cutting power and stability.
This kind of live demonstration is exactly what sets our channel apart: no edits, no retakes – just raw machining under pressure.
If you missed the stream, don’t worry. The full replay is now available.
