Allied Machine & Engineering has launched the M geometry insert for its GEN3SYS XT Pro high-penetration drill, specifically designed for use in stainless steel applications. The insert is optimized for machining 300 series, 400 series, and super duplex stainless steels, along with other challenging materials in the ISO M group.
The insert features a substrate that strikes an ideal balance between toughness and wear resistance, essential for processing stainless steels. Its advanced geometry enhances chip formation, allowing for high penetration rates during drilling operations.
Additionally, in job shop environments, machinists can benefit from using a single holder with multiple tip geometries, facilitating easy switching between stainless steels and other materials. This versatility enhances productivity and simplifies tool management.
