Allied Machine and Engineering, a global leader in holemaking and finishing cutting tools for the metal-cutting industry, has announced the promotion of Chris Best to the position of Eastern Regional Manager. This new role underscores the company’s commitment to nurturing leadership talent from within while reinforcing its long-term strategy to expand market presence and support customers across the Eastern United States.

Best, who has been with Allied Machine for several years, has built an impressive track record of combining technical expertise with a strong customer-first mindset. His journey began as a field sales engineer in Western Pennsylvania, where he quickly distinguished himself through his ability to forge close relationships with distributors and end users. His technical insight and problem-solving skills allowed him to address customer challenges with precision, helping clients improve efficiency and productivity on the shop floor.

Following his initial role, Best transitioned into the position of application specialist, a move that broadened his exposure to large-scale projects and critical accounts. In this role, he collaborated closely with field sales engineers to develop tailored solutions, particularly in projects that demanded custom tooling and complex engineering support. This experience not only deepened his understanding of the technical landscape but also prepared him for the leadership responsibilities he now assumes as regional manager.

In his new capacity, Best will be responsible for leading Allied Machine’s Eastern sales team, driving sustainable growth, and ensuring the company continues to deliver industry-leading service and support. His focus will be twofold: to expand Allied Machine’s market reach by strengthening relationships with distributors and end users, and to foster an environment of mentorship and collaboration within his team. He has expressed a strong commitment to guiding field sales engineers in the region, helping them develop their careers and equipping them with the knowledge to meet evolving customer needs.

“I’ve had the privilege of building a long tenure with colleagues across the Eastern region, and I deeply value the strong relationships we’ve developed over the years,” Best shared. “As I step into this new role, my goal is to continue that collaboration while also mentoring newer team members. Sharing the knowledge and experience I’ve gained is a way to ensure both our people and our customers succeed.”

Allied Machine views this appointment as a key step in aligning its leadership with the company’s broader vision of innovation, customer engagement, and long-term growth. With Best’s extensive background and his ability to connect technical expertise with market needs, the company expects to further strengthen its position in the competitive cutting tool sector.

This promotion highlights not only Best’s dedication and achievements but also Allied Machine’s culture of recognizing talent and investing in leadership development. As manufacturing continues to evolve with new technologies and shifting customer demands, leaders like Best will play a critical role in shaping the company’s success story in the years ahead.
