Airbus Helicopters Signs Deal with Bahrain for Nine H145 Helicopters
Airbus Helicopters has secured a contract with His Excellency Sheikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Bahrain’s Minister of Interior, for the purchase of nine H145 helicopters. These helicopters will be operated by the Police Aviation Command to support law enforcement operations and emergency medical services (EMS) across the Kingdom.
Olivier Michalon, EVP of Global Business at Airbus Helicopters, expressed his pride in the partnership: “We are thrilled that the Ministry of Interior of Bahrain has chosen to join the H145 global community. We are confident that the H145 will quickly prove to be a valuable addition to the Bahraini police fleet. As a truly multi-role helicopter, the H145’s flexibility makes it a vital asset for public safety missions worldwide, and particularly in the Middle East. With over 60 H145s already in service across the region, demand for this helicopter continues to grow for various applications, including EMS, energy sector operations, law enforcement, and utility missions.”
The latest version of the H145 features an innovative five-bladed rotor, which enhances its capabilities by increasing the helicopter’s useful load by 150kg. The new bearingless main rotor design also simplifies maintenance, improving serviceability and reliability, while offering superior ride comfort for both passengers and crew.
With more than 1,700 helicopters in service globally, the H145 family has accumulated over eight million flight hours. Powered by two Safran Arriel 2E engines, the H145 is equipped with full authority digital engine control (FADEC) and the advanced Helionix digital avionics suite. The H145 also features a high-performance four-axis autopilot, which enhances safety and reduces pilot workload. Notably, it has the lowest acoustic footprint in its class and offers the lowest CO2 emissions compared to its competitors.
This agreement further solidifies Airbus Helicopters’ position as a leading provider of reliable, versatile helicopters for both law enforcement and emergency services in the region.
