AB Energia, a leading clean energy solutions provider, has taken a strategic step toward strengthening India’s domestic renewable energy manufacturing base with the launch of its new subsidiary, Aviisii Electric Systems. The company’s expansion into solar structure manufacturing represents a move toward backward integration, aimed at enhancing quality, reliability, and cost efficiency while also unlocking fresh revenue opportunities by supplying to third-party projects.

The newly established Aviisii unit will focus on the production of high-performance fixed-tilt steel structures, which form the backbone of ground-mounted solar power plants. These structures, though often overlooked, are critical to ensuring the longevity, safety, and overall performance of solar installations. By localizing this part of its supply chain, AB Energia not only reduces dependency on external vendors but also positions itself as a stronger and more self-reliant player in the fast-growing renewable energy sector.

Mounting structures typically account for 7–8 percent of the total EPC cost of a solar power project, which translates to approximately ₹18–20 lakh per MWp. Their quality and durability play a central role in determining how well a plant performs over its lifespan, particularly under the stress of wind loads, heavy rains, and temperature fluctuations. By manufacturing these structures in-house, AB Energia aims to exercise tighter control over material standards, structural engineering, and delivery schedules, ultimately delivering more robust and reliable solar plants.

Commenting on the launch, Siddharth Bhatia, Managing Director of AB Energia Solutions, said, “In a solar power plant, steel mounting structures are the foundation that determines the plant’s longevity, safety, and performance. With Aviisii, we bring this critical component under our direct control, ensuring precision engineering, durability, and materials that withstand decades of wind, rain, and temperature fluctuations. In today’s global environment of shifting trade policies and rising protectionism, energy independence begins with manufacturing independence.”

The market response to Aviisii has already been encouraging. Within just six months of its operations, the subsidiary has secured an order book valued at over ₹50 crore. In its first phase, Aviisii is targeting a manufacturing capacity of more than 5,000 tonnes of structures, with scope for further scaling as demand grows. These strong early results reflect the industry’s confidence in AB Energia’s ability to deliver high-quality, cost-optimized solar infrastructure solutions.

For AB Energia, this diversification is expected to yield multiple benefits. It will improve supply chain reliability for its engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) projects, enable faster delivery timelines, and offer greater flexibility in project execution. Moreover, the move opens up a new stream of revenues from supplying structures to external developers, EPC players, and utility-scale projects across India.

As India accelerates its transition toward clean energy and scales up solar capacity to meet national targets, localized manufacturing of key components like steel structures will play a decisive role in ensuring cost competitiveness and resilience. With Aviisii Electric Systems, AB Energia is not only strengthening its own project capabilities but also contributing to the broader goal of making India a self-reliant hub for renewable energy infrastructure.
