Schneider Electric has officially opened its new 160,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in El Paso, Texas. The plant is part of a $300 million investment by the firm in U.S. manufacturing to assist customers that utilise its electrical equipment, driving the worldwide energy transition and the expansion of America’s infrastructure.

With more than 20 plants in its U.S. production network, Schneider Electric’s El Paso campus is now the company’s largest manufacturing operation in the country. The company will have around 1,500 employees in El Paso by the end of the year, thanks to the development of approximately 400 new employees. The new factory in the Northwest Corporate Centre manufactures custom-designed low-voltage and medium-voltage electrical equipment that safely transports power from the utility grid to diverse locations in industrial, commercial, and residential settings. The first batch of goods made in the new El Paso plant was delivered to data centre clients early this summer.

Since 2020, the firm has invested in equipment and modernised operations at its production plants in Lexington, Kentucky, Lincoln, Nebraska, and Mechanicsburg and Middletown, Pennsylvania. The $300 million multi-year investment enabled the improvements, which made the facilities more innovative, more sustainable, and highly efficient.
