Oshkosh Defence has received a $208 million order for tactical vehicles

The US Army Contracting Command – Detroit Arsenal has placed an order for Oshkosh Defence Joint Light Tactical Vehicles (JLTV), trailers (JLTV-T), and associated packaged and installed equipment, according to Oshkosh Defence. The deal is worth $208 million and comprises JLTVs for the United States Army, Marine Corps, and Air Force.

The JLTV was created to replace the ageing armoured HMMWV fleet with a vehicle that offers superior protection, mobility, and payload capacity. The Oshkosh Defence JLTV filled that vital capability with a purpose-built modular design that can be easily customised to suit mission requirements like as armament systems, protection kits, communications, and other critical equipment. It can support over 100 distinct mission package configurations while maintaining mobility, protection, and transportability.

Since receiving the first JLTV contract in 2015, Oshkosh Defence has received orders for over 23,000 JLTVs for the US Armed Forces, NATO, Allied, and Coalition partners. Throughout the programme, Oshkosh Defence concentrated on continual development and innovation, as evidenced by the more than 125 patents and applications associated with the JLTV family of vehicles and related technology that Oshkosh holds.
