With the arrival of the new academic year, Industrial Tooling Corporation (ITC) Ltd has once again made a conscious effort to support UK manufacturing and futureproof its business model with the appointment of a new manufacturing apprentice. In joining the UK’s leading cutting tool manufacturing company, Nico Fuentes is the 8th apprentice to join ITC in the last 8 years.
Unlike previous apprentices to join the Tamworth based cutting tool specialists, Nico Fuentes is a mature student that has already undertaken a degree in Product Design at Coventry University, graduating with a 2:1 classification. Following the completion of his degree, Nico worked at a local Tier 1 manufacturer as a machine technician. Clearly passionate about manufacturing and dedicated to progressing his career, Nico will undoubtedly make an impact at ITC during his 4 year apprenticeship and beyond.
Commenting upon the appointment of Nico, ITC’s Managing Director, Mr Peter Graves says: “We established our apprenticeship program over 8 years ago and we are extremely proud of our commitment to developing the next generation of engineers. Not only has our apprenticeship scheme given lots of young learners career opportunities in manufacturing; it has given ITC a continuous influx of talented young individuals that are keen to progress their careers and they are hungry for academic and on-the-job success. Most importantly, these young learners bring a fresh approach to our business.”
