With trochoidal milling strategies and the associated benefits of reduced cycle times and tooling consumption, improved productivity, material removal rates and component quality, Industrial Tooling Corporation (ITC) has once again extended its vast trochoidal milling portfolio.
Complementing the unfathomable depth of ITC’s four and five flute trochoidal ranges, the Tamworth cutting tool experts have now expanded the six flute range with the arrival of the new 6051 Series. Developed specifically for the machining of steel and exotic material types, the arrival of the 6051 Series offers manufacturers a long flute length for reaching into pockets and difficult to reach surfaces. The geometry of the 6051 Series provides end users with a robust and stable platform that instils confidence when undertaking extended length machining with high material removal rates.
The 6051 Series has a centre cutting geometry with harmonic fluting to maximise material removal rates and swarf evacuation whilst minimising vibration to enhance surface finishes and tool life. This rigidity and performance is further enhanced with a shallow chip gullet that guarantees exceptional core strength for high material removal rates and stability. Complementing this is the polished harmonic flutes and Cupro coating that evacuates chips at an extraordinary rate.
The 6051 Series is offered with square end geometry for 90 degree machining in corners. Additionally, to further enhance the strength and longevity of the 6051 Series, the end mills are available with a corner radius of 0.25. 0.5, 0.75 or 1mm to prevent edge chipping and prolong tool life. The impressive 6-flute series is available with diameter options of 6, 8, 10, 12, 16 and 20mm with a length of cut from 18mm on the 6mm diameter tool through to 60mm on the 20mm diameter end mills. To provide unrivalled reach, the 6051 Series is available with an overall tool length from 75 to 150mm depending upon the diameter selected
