In a significant stride towards sustainability, GenPhoenix and Axil Integrated Services have successfully diverted over 10,000 tonnes of leather offcuts from landfills. This achievement highlights the companies’ commitment to revolutionizing sustainable materials while reducing environmental impact.

The partnership, established two years ago, focuses on transforming leather waste into premium circular materials. These materials meet high standards of quality and sustainability, setting an example for the industry.

Since 2016, both companies have maintained a zero waste to landfill pledge. Their efforts have resulted in a 50% reduction in carbon footprint compared to traditional leather production methods. They have also achieved 95% water recycling efficiency, underscoring their dedication to responsible resource management.

Furthermore, GenPhoenix and Axil have implemented the use of 100% renewable electricity in their operations. Their products incorporate up to 77% recycled leather fibre, promoting a circular economy model.

Lee O’Brien, Ian Taplin, Andy Marrion, and Richard Rippon have been instrumental in driving this initiative. Their leadership within Axil Integrated Services, which specializes in waste management solutions, has been pivotal.

This milestone is not the end of their journey. Both companies are committed to further innovations and advancements in the sustainable materials sector.
