ASG Aerospace took to Leeds last week, showcasing their expertise at STEMFest Yorkshire and Humber. The event, held at Events North, attracted approximately 2,000 students aged 10 to 13 over two days, drawing over 50 exhibitors from across the region. The festival was skillfully organised by RTC North.
ASG Produmax Ltd, the aerospace division of ASG Aerospace, led an inspiring initiative aimed at encouraging young minds to explore careers in engineering. Under the leadership of Jasmine Hibbert, apprentices from ASG engaged students in interactive aerospace activities, illustrating the intricacies of precision engineering and the promising opportunities within the sector.
Jasmine Hibbert emphasised the importance of sparking curiosity at an early age. “If a hands-on activity gets a student excited about science, technology, engineering, and maths, they’re far more likely to choose those subjects at school. That’s where every engineering career starts,” she stated.
The UK aerospace supply chain is reliant on a consistent influx of engineering talent. Events like STEMFest play a crucial role in nurturing this pipeline by providing a platform for young people to engage with the industry directly.
